CD Javea were narrowly defeated in their first pre-season game of the summer by Third Division side CD La Nucia. A healthy crowd of 500 watched a great game of football with trialist goalkeeper Floyd Croll pulling of a series of wonder saves to strengthen his claim for a contract for this coming season. The only goal of the game came seconds after the break when glaring error gifted an opener for the home side. However there was rarely a chance to separate the two teams and they fully deserved the standing ovation at full time.
