Achill Nightclub - Javea

With party the name of the game this Saturday the 6am girls headed off in search of some funky tunes and a place to shake our bodacious booties.

Being lovers of 70’s disco music, the only place to go this weekend was to the best known beachfront club in Javea, the infamous Achill.  So afros at the ready and a Flashdance feeling in our lower regions we hit Achill at around 2ish, and gyrated our way in to the sounds of “play that funky music white boy” what a Tune!!

Once inside the atmosphere is about as disco as you can get.  It was lovely to see all manner of age groups and nationalities getting down to some of the best know hits from the 70’s, 80’s & 90’s, everyone was having a truly fantastic time.

Achill is the best known nightclub on Javea’s beachfront, and in all honesty doesn’t really have much competition.  Achill opens nightly from midnight during the summer months, and you can party straight through to the wee hours.  For those true party animals out there, you have to, at least once, party until dawn and take the opportunity to see a breathtaking sunrise, whilst chilling out on Achill’s open air patio. You can take in the beautiful Mediterranean and Montgo Mountain all in one blurry eyed view, now that really is hardcore partying.

Achill appeals to a mixed range of ages and nationalities, and brings in DJ’s from all over the Costa Blanca.  The music is generally a mixture of house, dance and techno, depending on the night and the DJ.  They also hold party nights at certain times of the year, like the 70’s disco nights, R&B nights and famous DJ’s like Bob Sinclair, but you need to watch out for these events being advertised, as they are usually very popular, with tickets selling out quickly.

Smoking is permitted in all areas and there is a cigarette machine situated downstairs by the toilets along with a cloakroom.  Disabled access is limited and we didn’t see any evidence of a disabled toilet upstairs, but we will check on that and update the article if we find out otherwise.  Drinks prices are not on the cheap side, but for the atmosphere people didn’t seem to mind paying the €3.00 for a bottle of water, and on average €8.00 for a mixed spirit.  Seating is abundant inside, and for a change of scenery with less noise the outside patio in the summer is the perfect spot for a chat and that amazing view.

For somewhere to finish off your night, Achill is a perfect venue.  It has a good no nonsense atmosphere, and any problems are sorted out quickly by the efficient doormen, not that I have ever seen any trouble.  It is definitely a favorite of many locals, and you usually see a least a few regular faces partying the night away with lots of enthusiasm.  The 6am girls had a wonderful evening and would like to thank Eric and Edgar for inviting us along, the only problem you have now is that WE WILL BE BACK!! Ohh dear!
