Since the opening of Jávea’s new Ronda Sur in October, Jávea council has been inundated with complaints from drivers who have suffered burst tyres. To date around 70 people have complained about the fact that when using the new route they have suffered punctures. The latest incidents occurred on Wednesday when an elderly expat couple were travelling along the road in their new car. At the junction with Calle Arquitecto Urteaga they suffered a burst tyre. This was repeated just a few hours later when another driver suffered a similar fate at the same spot. A resident who lives close to the scene said that he had witnessed the second accident and confirmed that since the road opened there had been in excess of 70 similar incidents.
