Once again we were treated to an excellent selection of floats from the various Penyas and associations of the Port on Sunday 31st August. Many groups use this opportunity to take a snipe at local national politics in an inoffensive way.

The floats are then judged by a committee made of fiesta organisers, town hall representatives and a mixed age group of people living in the Port. They  judged the La Bufa penya float to be the winner with its very topical theme and  original fancy dress. Its theme was of the town road  works and how it is affecting  businesses and residents alike. 

Second prize went to the  penya La Piña with its theme of popular fiesta activities. Third place went to penya La UCA with its theme of “unsynchronized swimmers” A fantastic night.
