Once again the bars and restaurants near the Javea town hall have to suffer more disruption to their trade due to the major face lift going on in the old town. This is the ninth time in 2 years that this particular stretch has been cut off!!
This section has suffered more than others. The town hall has promised that the work will be carried out quickly – but have chosen the busiest tourist week in which to complete it. It is an alteration to previously laid works!!
Yesterday the machines and trucks moved in once again making it almost impossible to serve clients on the terrace due to noise, dust and disappearance of the road!!! The town hall says it is the fault of the contractors and when the contractors are asked they say they are only following orders from the town hall!!
The business owners cannot understand that on one hand the town hall say they want to get back on good terms with the owners of the commercial premises but then take decisions which only aggravate and further alienate them. However the area around the town church should be ready and prepared by the weekend so they can start laying the granite tiles after the weekend holiday!
