Not sure what to do with the kids this summer?  As we all know the school holidays here are much longer and lovely beaches,and it is a great opportunity to get them away from television and psp's and get exercise and fressh air whilst enjoying themselves. Many will spend time at the beach or in a pool, unfortunately the roads become too busy to make cycling viable for children.
But even with all this children sometimes need a little more and parents need some time out from taxi-ing and chaperoning!!!To this end there are many summer courses for children, both private and town hall. Some courses can be residential- usually one week, others are daily throughout July and August. Prices vary depending on the level of coaching or equipment used. I shall try to list them along with details of registration.
Summer sports school -Escola de estui,Xabia 2008 -from 9am to 2pm daily from 1st to 15th July and 16th to 30th July. This covers many different types of sport, badminton, basketball, swimming dance orienteering, cycling and many more.
It is available to children born in the years 1995 to 2001(7-13) and costs 56.70 euros for each 15 day session. To register you go to the sports hall in Javea Port ( telephone 965792000)and choose the courses you want your child to do and they will produce a document you will have to pay at a bank. Remember that although the courses are taught in spanish, many of the instructors understand english and as it is a practical subject it is a case of watch and copy.
Sailing school - Club Nautica Javea Port- sudents must be able to swim.There are 3 courses which run from 30th of June till 12 July except Sundays.
"A" for 8/9 year olds. There will be 2 groups of 18 from 9.30am to 11.30 am.
"B" for 10/11year olds. 2 groups of 18 from 12noon to 2pm on alternate days.
"C" fir 12/13 year olds. From 9.30am to 11.30.
The final day 12th will be a day of races followed by dinner and presentation at night.
The cost is 10 euros per course. Contact the Club Nautica in the Port to register.
Beach Volleyball for 8 to 13 years. 10am till 12 noon Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays on the Arenal beach, for all of July and August. Prices start from 20 euros for a week to 45 euros for each month. For information call 639219722

Football - Javea football club.For 7 to 13 year olds, 9.30am till 12.30pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday form 14th July till 29th August (except 4th to 8th August). This is a course of football training to develop players skills, physical and tactical ability. Course costs 60 euros for one week or 300 euros for the whole 6 weeks. You can register at the club |
