Javea Council Get Tough

Javea Council Get Tough

Javea Town Hall has started to get serious about enforcing local licensing laws and dealing with denuncias. Recently land was cleared in front of Las Olas  Urbanisation on Carretera Cabo la Nao. This area was then fenced and a porta-cabin installed as an office for a construction materials company.

They displayed their hours and after an opening party began business last month. This was convenient for builders who no longer needed to cross the town for supplies.

However the residents of las Olas Urbanisation put in a  denuncia to the town council  and last week the area was sealed by local police as it seems it did not have the correct paperwork and licences.  The owner has now decided to close the yard and this week has been removing supplies of bricks, sand etc to another location.

Although it is nice to see the town hall finally taking action it is surprising that, with this so visible on a main road,  they had not stepped in earlier and saved the residents of Las Olas the inconvenience and the owner money.
