In the late 90s the library catalog was computerised.

The report made in 2003 by the Department of Culture on the services of Javea showed that the library is one of the most interesting services of best value and service municipality.

As part of the policy of the municipality work undertaken, expansion and improvement of local facilities also included development of the library. From 2004, the library enjoys an area of over 500m2. Also put in to operation at this time were sections of: Music library, Video library, as well as Internet access. The International Library service also became operational, and operates in the four main languages of the residents in the city: English, Dutch, German and French.
